When asked what I liked best about wireless fidelity, I said that it is the mobility I benefit from it. As a business man, I could walk around the office while talking to my partners over the mobile phone. Also, Wi-Fi allows me to do business even outside the office. All I need to do is carry my laptop with me and off I go for business any where in the globe.
However, based on experience, I was disappointed by the unreliable wireless security services of the internet. I believe that wireless security is a fuss. I am glad with the effectivity of the technology in my line of work, but I still do not see the significance of absolute security over my e-mails and files. Before, I used to trust softwares that do the job of guarding my files. I even devised the best and hardest to guess password for my system files. I have done all the possible means to secure my files, but nothing worked as effective as I expected them to be.
Long before I learned about security risks over wireless connections, I adhered to the rule of not doing business transactions in computer shops or Internet cafes. I tried my best to have my business deals done in my laptop. That way, I will be, at least, sure that no one is peeping on my files. Although, I am not completely confident about the issue, I am left with no choice but support Wi-Fi since it best serves my business needs.

As prominent as wireless internet connection is, so are the incidences of hacking. These days, since these kinds of technologies have become largely available to the masses, information has been disseminated more about the disadvantages or the cons of using such technologies. I could not help but think how lucky we are now that we are more aware of such things, as opposed to say, three years ago.
In fact, about a couple of years ago, a WiFi hacking occurrence happened which involved one of the chain home living stores in America. Ever heard of Lowe's hacking? If not, well, you might have just been getting around to purchasing a WiFi system at that time and thus, are not yet familiar with all the gizmos and techno hooplas. In short, you didn't care enough yet. Well, anyway, according to reports, three teens stumbled upon Lowe's unsecure wireless system while looking for WiFi hotspot. Then, they came up with this ingenious plan to rob Lowe's customers of their credit card numbers through WiFi hacking, just sitting inside their parked cars with their laptops and antenna.
Amazing, right? Only they were caught and thus incriminated by the state's computer crime act. Ding! Busted! I actually think it's kind of funny because just when they think they can get away with such unlawfulness using WiFi, the same technology also enabled authorities to track them down. Technology is indeed all a matter of trial and error.

My kind of work requires me to travel around the city or even abroad. I find it difficult to carry around all my things, especially my Sony laptop. I am left with no choice, but to stay in hotels. Mostly, my meetings with business partners are held in hotels. Exhausting as it may seem, I do not feel tired of going places and do business.
You may ask why I waste time going places when I can do my transactions via the Internet. I say, the difference of having wireless fidelity in the office and outside business parameters is almost unattainable since WiFi could be found almost anywhere in the world. I know this for a fact, since I had the chance to find WiFi in unexpected places.
One time, I checked-in at Century Hyatt hotel. To my surprise, the hotel accommodations did not only include meals, but WiFi as well. I was wrong thinking that only the United States hotels offer such privilege. In Japan, wireless fidelity in hotels are very rare. The New Otani hotel, for instance is among the best in Japan, and though business affairs regularly held there, it has no accommodations for wireless connection. The reason for this is that most hotels expect their customers to have Bluetooth capable phones or PDAs, which is why wireless fidelity is not extensively encouraged.

Rock your world and enjoy good music with the WiFi audio system by Philips! I always thought I will never get to hear good music using wireless fidelity system. The device is so awesome; I am still dying to have it though I have the best music player with me right now.
I planned to put up an audio system that wills play music throughout the different areas in my home. All I need to complete my scheme is a steady device that will provide wireless connection to the loud speakers and single computer in my room. I thought I was running out of ideas when I learned about the WACS700. I would like to experience 'broadcasting' my music, at least in my house. Then, maybe given a break, I could make money out of it.
For the technical part, the device can turn plain music into party. It has features that readily arrange the settings of music to bring out the necessary effects for whatever purpose the music may serve. The best thing about WACS700 is that it can perfectly synchronize music to all the receivers installed in the area. I could not wait to try it for my self. It is the perfect solution to audio problems with its stylish design that features a digital display screen and digital speaker system like that of an Apple iPod. No fuss, but plain musicality, the WACS700 works as the assistant to disk jockeys. It actually allows users to see the information about the discs, artists, albums, and music play list for superior convenience. Once I get hold of Philips WACS700, I can already throw away my compact disc player.

Lately, I have observed that wireless networks could sometimes work slower than how they are expected to do so. In our house, for example, my brother put up a WiFi network so we can have our connections right in the comfort of our room. But, as time went by we began experiencing interferences whose causes and origins we do not know.
From time to time, I have been reminding my brother to buy a software that analyzes the spectrum of interference. I learned about this software over the Internet. It works like a dog that sniffs interferences. These interferences do not only come from other networks, say for example from our neighbors who also have WiFis, but from the home appliances as well. Devices such as cordless kitchen appliances and mobile phones contribute to the interferences.
The spectrum analyzer readily plugs-in to a PC. It reports its analysis of the interferences by presenting a graph that shows the configurations. It measures interferences in hertz so it feels like having a radio or television network. The software really helped us a lot in finding out incoming interferences and where these are coming from. I find it really convenient to use since it does not require an external antenna.

Wireless security is in fact two contradicting terms. There is no guarantee that information sent online could be secured. I am just thankful for softwares that encrypt networks because at least they help. Every time I log on to a wireless fidelity access point, I am well aware that I am transmitting my log-in name and my password. Given the said scenario, I should be worried that there might be somewhere out there, a ‘terrorist’ that has already got my personal identification online.
While personal computers that have individual networks are already susceptible to attacks and theft, how much more if the network involves business? The probability is high and with the current technology called wireless fidelity, there is little chance for ‘terrorists’ to be traced. I have read an article about a store-owner who was robbed of the software he uses for credit card processing. That really scared me since my family is also engaged in a business which utilizes credit card processors.
I thought only business men are faced with such threats, but I came to another article that talked about a hospital that utilizes wireless networks in transmitting information from the room of the patient to the servers. The medical data were stolen by a man who confessed that he just wanted to reveal the weakness of the system in keeping confidential medical records. Such thing really happens, and before we know it, the culprits have already entered our networks.

I am sure that hackers drive you mad. They are well aware of the illegal WiFi phishing they do to our networks, and yet, they seem to have no plan to stop. What scares us a lot is the fact that these hackers do not only intend to cause much trouble, but create worldwide, wireless chaos.
To be able to achieve the fastest internet access, our systems and the networks we are connected to must literally be clean of any impurities. If such scenario is achieved, then the road heading to websites will be smooth and clear. However, when worse becomes worst, if our systems will not be slightly infected, they will be totally blocked. There goes the waste of time and money. But, there are still ways to prevent these from happening. But, unfortunately, there is no guarantee for a cure.
Computers with high standard systems like those with Windows XP are not even guaranteed complete assurance that with the version and high standard features they have, they are well protected. Wireless Fidelity hacking is really a problem difficult to solve. What is left for us to do is to keep a steady watch over these criminals because if not, we will definitely suffer financial losses.

A WiFi antenna sounds too technical for me. Aside from the term wireless fidelity, the idea of an antenna seems so complicated with machines. But, as I surf the internet, I came to read a clever idea of constructing a WiFi antenna. The article talked about a Cantenna.
Cantenna, as the word implies, is a can-antenna. Yes, you got it right. The article made it so simple for me understand the technique behind such antenna for wireless connection. Such antenna is merely a suggestive idea. There is no harm in trying since the whole equipment costs less than six dollars. Any tin can having a minimum diameter of three inches could be used. The other parts are the basic elements: connector, bolts, nuts, and wire. All these materials are available at the hardware. The connector mounts on the tin can.
On the other hand, its other side is for the cable. This requires the use of soldering iron, but do not worry, it will not even make you sweat. Fasten the connector to the can by using the nuts and bolts or screws. When everything is done, you may try to connect it to your computer. Take note, this device alone does not guarantee wide connection, but it can help.

Are you in a rush in setting up a wireless network to get Internet connection to work as quickly as possible? Of course, everybody is going crazy over getting wireless, wireless in the office and wireless in homes. But are you aware of the security risks of setting up home networks that are wireless? If you're not, consider these two tips to improve your security.
First, you must change the password for default administrators. All of WiFi home networks must have an access in access points or router. In setting up this equipment, there are provided web pages that can help users to enter the account information and network address. These are protected web tools with a password and username to secure the right of the owner. But, you must remember that this provided logins are common to Internet hackers. So, you must change the password often.
Second, you must turn on the WEP/WPA Encryption. All of WiFi equipments have forms of encryption. Encryption is a kind of technology within the network that scrambles the messages or words that are sent in the wireless network. This is done to protect the messages. To function, all devices of WiFi in your LAN should share encryptions that are identical in settings. So, you need to look for a denominator that is most common to all of your devices.
By doing this, you can be sure that the wireless network is secure. Wireless security is very important to avoid any undesirable things to happen in your network. Now, you don't need to worry.

Can you differentiate a flagpole that holds the US Flag and a Flagpole antenna that can give you WiFi hotspots location? I do not even know what makes it different from the usual flagpole when I only see it. I'm thankful that my friend told me all about it.
This WiFi antenna is called Flagpole Stealth Antenna. It is sometimes called as flagtenna. She told me that it is virtually unrecognizable and it is an invisible antenna because it stands like a flagpole with the US flag. It is made of high quality product to ensure its endurance and quality. It varies in height and the small model is just right to rise atop tree for better signal coverage. The smallest antenna is available in three models which are: Wall Mount, Surface Mount, and In-Ground Mount. It has a frequency range of 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz. The antenna can be bought at prices $1460. The flagpoles are separately shipped together with the US Flag.
This antenna is dual in purpose. First, it gives the best signal for enjoying WiFi hotspots in your convenient place. Second, it fosters nationalism and patriotism to the beloved country of United States.

What is your idea about WiFi? How about WiFi antenna? I used to believe that WiFi technology use only electronic gadgets. But, I was wrong because I never imagined that a trash like tin can be converted into WiFi antenna.
It is called Tin Can Waveguide WiFi Antenna. Sometimes it is called as Cantenna. Here are some insights on how to make it. First, you must collect the needed things. You will need A N-Female chassis connector which will connect cable from the wireless equipment. This is available in electronic stores. The four small bolts and nuts are needed to connect the can. Also, you will need twelve cooper wires. You can choose a can size of your preference. After collecting the materials, you make holes in can. Make sure that the holes are in right place and assemble it. For your antenna to function, connect your card that is wireless to the antenna.
The antenna's polarization is linear which means that you can rotate your antenna. The product is an inexpensive way of using wireless technology. Although it is inexpensive and very promising, the risk of connecting it to the radio has never been established.

Wireless fidelity or WiFi is one of the best technologies ever invented in the computer history. Imagine connecting to the world with invisible wires, and yet having the fastest internet access that guarantees accuracy in just a click on the mouse.
WiFi requires protection just like your ordinary phone connection, and this defense mechanism is not found in firewall softwares or local anti-virus programs. The vulnerability of computers to illegal invasion and even file theft lead to the creation of wifi security programs.
McAfee is now offering a helping hand and an effective solution to your security problems. The company was able to develop what it calls the WiFi home network security. The product automatically protects personal computers against file theft and groundless network access with just a click on the menus. It ensures tight guarding of files and identification by encoding the exclusive data while it is delivered over the WiFi and automatically obstructs hackers so they will have no chance of accessing the network it serves. This powerful and reliable security can serve up to five wireless personal computers. It is compatible with Windows XP, ME, 2000, and 98.

If you are a mobile worker who wishes to get internet access wherever you go, you may be wondering how you are going to build your own wi-fi hotspot. It's hardly a mystery, and it's not as difficult as you think. All you need to do is follow some important steps in choosing your coverage area, installing the antenna, and locking down your network for security.
Depending on how wide your hotspot coverage area is, you're getting the 802.11 signal to cover it. The 3Com OfficeConnect wireless cable/DSL gateway or the more versatile dual-band D-Link AirPro DI-764 may fill your range requirements if you were building a hotspot on small area. A wider coverage area that can reach up to a mile away entails you to attach a more sensitive antenna and establish a line-of-site connection between the access point and the hotspot location.
If you've considered all these options, installing the right type of antenna should be easy enough. However, there's a caveat: Using the wrong antenna can wreak havoc with other networks and hot spots in the area. You should also think about the security of your network, since if you don't use firewall protection, it might just be the next network to be infiltrated by system hackers.

WiFi technology is a revolutionary change as it transforms communities into a wireless one. It makes the life of the people more mobile. Many users have been dreaming to create their own hotspots so that they enjoy it fully. You can own a hotspot by downloading from software, but all is not free of charge.
Last March 28, 2hotspots.com announced that there will be sharing of service of WiFi to Microsoft PCs. This means that Microsoft Windows users can now enjoy the use of a hotspot controller by downloading it from the site. This software is for free and has many benefits for users. First, when you have a controller, even without the traditional service of internet, users can connect to the internet by creating a network community. Second, they can participate in forums and chats or in bulletin boards. Third, they can start a business by charging other users for the shared access in internet.
This is good news for MS Windows users. Now, you can have their own WiFi hotspot without using their money. You can enjoy it wherever you are: in home, in office, in school, or even in plane.

We are living in a world of technology wonders. Almost everything becomes wireless. I’m sure that you cannot think of a time in your life that you are not using technological product. Every aspect of our life is affected by technology. Can you imagine life without technology? Can you imagine life far away from your loved ones? Surely, we cannot live without communicating to our loved ones. I think, this is the primary reason why Nokia phones came to birth, to connect and bring people closer.
Nokia was the first company to manufacture NMT hand portable phones in Scandinavia. Today, it is the world leader in manufacturing mobile phones, devices, and solutions for imaging, games, media, and businesses. Because it envisions making life mobile, in the year of 2005, Nokia manufactured two hundred million units of cellphone with a market share of thirty-three percent. True to its commitment, Nokia introduces the latest Nokia phone models in the market.
Nokia, being the icon of WiFi technology, is also leading in the multi-radio industry. Multi-radio is another kind of WiFi technology that the company is developing this 2006. It will include developments in cellular, one-to-many technology, wireless, and proximity. This new development in communication will allow users to fully enjoy the new features of mobile phones like access to WLAN hotspots, scanning of smart tags, voice calls, and TV broadcasts.

The best things in life are free. The same is true with wireless communication. Is it not best when you can freely get connected with anybody around the world?
But, at times, you may encounter some difficulties in utilizing WiFi free hotspot. There are certain things to bear in mind when it comes to fast Internet access using your wireless device. This is to ensure effective and hassle-free wireless communication.
First, when the connection is not secure, use virtual private network for your protection. Take note that the signal is not always strong and it may not be on at all times. Therefore, see to it that you are actually searching for the correct network signal, otherwise, you will not be able to access it. Do it on your own. Anticipating staff assistance may not work at all because some of them are not even aware of it. You are unwired, so it follows that you are not supposed to see a lot of plugs. In this case, always carry with you an extra battery. There are locations that do not permit you to deliver an outgoing e-mail. If this happens, you may use a web-based e-mail account. But, most importantly, do not dare to forget that it is absolutely free.

Busy people always find time for some rest and recreation. They go to exotic vacation spots to spend some time away from their busy careers and the hustle and bustle of the city life. But no matter what, they still need to communicate with their family and friends back home so they are likely to bring along their laptops with them.
According to a survey made by Intel Corporation, more and more Americans and Europeans choose vacation spots as to the availability of WiFi hotspots in their resorts or hotels. The availability of WiFi access in public places is the result of the need for people to communicate with their friends, relatives or business partners wherever they are in the world.
Travelers find the need to send email or instant messages to people back home that is why they choose to stay in resorts that can offer internet access, while for travelers who bring their own notebook computers with them they stay in resorts that have integrated technology into their amenities.
In the coming years, it is predicted that WiFi in vacation spots is going to become a big trend in communication technology. It is no wonder that hotels and resorts around the world are very apt to upgrade their systems to suit the needs of vacationers
